Step 2 anki deck

Not sure about step 2 but for step 1 if the same student took step 1 on one day and magically also took it on another day their score could differ by as much at 17 points. Also it’s important to remember that the score variability for step 1/2 is very large. It’s just once you start hitting 260+ scores it becomes not only the work you put in studying but also test taking skills and a bit of luck.

That said I believe diligent studying, maturing one of the focused CK decks (which is what you are doing) and completing uWorld plus your incorrects can “guarantee” you at least a 245 if not 250+ on step 2. At the extreme high end of scores getting even a few questions (like 2-5) correct/incorrect can change you score by 1-2 or even more points. At these kind of scores you need to have done the work studying, be skilled at taking multiple choice exams (it is a skill and can be learned but it is a difficult topic for many people) and have a bit of luck. No I don’t believe there is anything that you can do study wise to “guarantee” hitting 260+ while it changes year to year hitting 260+ and especially 265+ you are talking about doing better than +90% of all medical students. Over all dropping to a 100 total cards per day isn’t a great option. What sections to do and which to suspend would depending entirely on what areas you need to work on. Now if you can only do 100 cards per day and there isn’t anything you can do to change that then I recommend only doing specific sections of the deck and out right ignoring large portions of the deck (ie suspend cards). We are talking like 1.5 years to mature the whole deck. Now if you mean dropping your total cards per day to 100 then you are looking at 15-20 new cards per day and honestly you will never mature the deck at that pace.

Going down to 100 new cards per day will also drop your total cards per day by roughly 50%.

If you mean dropping new cards to 100 per day I think that’s a great idea it would extend getting to 100% maturity a bit (likely go from just over 3 months to just under 7 months but it would be far easier to stick with. Going to just reply here for both your posts.
